Executive Summary

In 2023, the Well of Hopes Community Water Well Program aimed to initiate a vision requiring time and dedication, as we strive to impact 100,000 lives. Remarkably, we exceeded our $5000/- fundraising target during the 30-day Ramadan challenge this year. In response to positive feedback, we commit to conducting our campaigns exclusively during Ramadan.

Current Situation In Pakistan

  1. 22 million people do not have access to clean water
  2. Nearly 19,500 children under 5 die each year from diarrhea
  3. 79 million people do not have a suitable toilet facility
  4. Some research suggests that Pakistan is on its way to becoming the most water-stressed country in the region by the year 2040
  5. Water scarcity in Pakistan has been accompanied by rising temperatures, droughts in some areas, and a growing population

The Importance of Safe Water

The importance of safe water is often forgotten—a fundamental need that many lack access to. For more than a billion people, the primary challenge is accessing clean, safe drinking water easily. The health risks associated with contaminated water prevent many from escaping poverty. The World Health Organization emphasizes that nothing has a greater impact on national development and public health than ensuring access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation.

Project Overview

The objective of the Community Water-Well Program is to tackle water scarcity and enhance access to clean water in underserved communities throughout Pakistan. Thanks to generous contributions, WOH has successfully financed the construction of water wells in regions facing water shortages
