The Annual Project Feedback Report presents an outline of the activities undertaken in 2022 as part of the Community Water Well Program, which received support from Muslim Hands Canada in collaboration with #Well of Hope. This report delves into the program’s influence, providing insights into its implementation, achievements, and future aspirations.

Executive Summary

In 2022, the Well of Hopes Community Water Well Program celebrated significant accomplishments, navigated through challenges, and laid out plans that marked the commencement of a long-term vision. With a mission to positively impact 100,000 lives, our journey entails dedication and perseverance. Remarkably, we exceeded our target of $5000/- during the 30-day Ramadan challenge this year. Responding to encouraging feedback, we commit to sustaining our campaigns exclusively during Ramadan.

Current Situation In Pakistan

22 million people do not have access to clean water
Nearly 19,500 children under 5 die each year from diarrhea
79 million people do not have a suitable toilet facility
Some research suggests that Pakistan is on its way to becoming the most water-stressed country in the region by the year 2040
Water scarcity in Pakistan has been accompanied by rising temperatures, droughts in some areas, and a growing population

The Importance of Safe Water

It’s often overlooked how crucial safe water is—a fundamental necessity denied to many. For over a billion people, the most pressing challenge in life is securing access to clean, safe drinking water. The lack of clean water leads to poor health, trapping many in the cycle of poverty. According to the World Health Organization, nothing has a more significant impact on national development and public health than ensuring access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation

Project Overview

The Community Water-Well Program aims to address water scarcity and improve access to clean water in underserved communities across Pakistan. Through generous donations, WOH has been able to fund the construction of water wells in areas with water shortages.
